Hey, it's Joanne (Giovanna). Just trying to figure out all the different places I can post. Just testing to see if this works. Sorry if you find a few things all over wiki.
I've also typed something under discussion posts. Not sure if we use this screen to chat or the discussion posts. This is next to the edit button near the right hand corner :)
Hey it's Joanna again, I'm half way through listening to the first web conference and it is making things more clear. Has anyone else listened to it?
I guess we need to start discussing some ideas for the fieldtrip. What state do you both live in? Maybe if we can find something in common that might help us decide what type of fieldtrip we are going to come up with. I live in Point Cook in Melbourne and have grown up in Melbourne. I'm 27 years old and unfortunately I don't work in a school which can be a bit of a struggle for me while studying. I find it hard to create lessons and get ideas, I'm sure that would be easier if I was in a school environment every day. Do either of you work in a school? If you do we could start using ideas that you have seen while at work. I'll try and come up with something too.
Joanne again, I really hope these messages are easy to find, I'm sure you will let me know. Well I have read other discussion posts and in the scenario when people are from different states they have used a site that is common everywhere. eg, one group is going with the topic reduce, reuse, reycle so they are visiting a recycling plant as every state would have one of those. Also, if we are from different states I read it is best to stick to the Aust curriculum. I don't mind, I try to use the Aust one where I can because it's the one we will be using when we graduate.
Ok enough chatter from me. If i post again it will be something very useful for the assignment :)
I hate wiki!! Hi its me jess. Wiki makes me change my password everytime I sign in!! I live in melb to0! I'm 29 n been an aide for 7 years. I am familiar with lesson plans. I agree once we have chosen the fieldtrip things will get easier. It would be great if we could all be on at once? even if its on wiki reading and replying let me know 0408 606 240 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 0408 606 240end_of_the_skype_highlighting. Im more familiar with the Vic curriculum with progression points etc. I think it confusess me greatly when I use the tas as they have refered to things in stages and not points to work towards. I dont mind. Listening to lecture now.
**Ladies sorry but ive been reading/ listening and am now aware that an Artefact can be a
"brochure, postcard, grid, flyer, any kind of document that your group prepares as part of the field work planning." I was thinking , as at my school we have just received a new modular for Environmental Science if you were interested in doing sustainability such as reduce reuse recycle. Im not sure if this takes place at your school but we have paper & cardboard bins in every class, rain water tanks for the gardens, buckets under the taps used to water plants etc. I'm very creative and would love to create the "mock" brochure. There is a recycle plant that does fieldtrips too so the students would gather even more info and then we could create lesson plans leading upto and after it. Let me know if this artefact is ok? I can design it online and send it to you both. For the lesson planning part we could use there ICT skills in creating a brochure with a partner etc.
Hi Ladies,
Hope you are both well. Just wondering if that would be ok? So I can get to work on the brochure.... thinking the students fieldtrip could be to a place called visy recycling? Just need to know if this is ok? Then we can plan around it :D
hey it's Joanne, looks like we are on at the same time, I wasn't able to save what I typed because it said you had, so here it is:
Love your ideas Jess. I'm so happy to hear you work in a school, I really struggle without that contact. If you want to do the brochure that is great, I can start working on a lesson plan. I still need to listen to the second lecture for AT2 as well, not sure if that will give me more ideas.
do you know if there is a live chat on here?
also, we need to figure out what grade we are aiming this at, that will help with lesson plans.....Joanne :)
